- PCB layout and routing for mixed-signal, RF, and power designs
- Experience with ECAD libraries and library configuration management
- Design for manufacturability, assembly, and test
- Mentor Xpedition and/or Altium Designer (Mentor Xpedition preferred)
- High-speed design experience (impedance control, transmission lines)
- Power supply and DC-DC converter layout experience
- Knowledge of MIL-STD, IPC, and commercial standards
- Parts monitoring and selection experience
- Scripting and automation for layout tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Active TS/SCI clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one
Responsibilities
- Determine layer stackups, perform component package selection, placement, and routing feasibility studies for digital, analog, RF, and power PCBs
- Perform signal routing, impedance control, and power trace design for high-speed buses, FPGA/DRAM/CPU, and power converters
- Create, maintain, and release PCB fabrication, assembly, and test documentation
- Build and manage ECAD libraries and configuration management
- Collaborate with hardware engineers, internal teams, and PCB vendors to improve design rules, DFM/DFT, and manufacturing guidelines
- Evaluate and maintain PCB design tools, implement automation/scripting, and train team members on tool usage
- Participate in design reviews and iterate designs to meet electrical, mechanical, and manufacturability requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
- 1+ years professional PCB layout experience (with degree) or 3+ years professional PCB layout experience in lieu of a degree
