Skills
- Proficiency with CAD (NX, CATIA, Creo, or SolidWorks)
- Experience with FEA tools (ANSYS, ABAQUS, or FEMAP)
- Knowledge and application of GD&T
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, parts lists, and specifications
- Strong hands-on aptitude for fabrication, assembly, and on-site troubleshooting
- Effective collaboration and communication with cross-functional teams
Responsibilities
- Design and analyze mechanical systems for launch pads, recovery systems, and production tooling
- Own projects end-to-end: coordinate build, testing, and activation of the hardware you design
- Collaborate daily with launch operations, technicians, and engineering leadership to meet form, function, and aesthetic requirements
- Perform basic structural sizing, mechanism design, and development trade-offs based on cost and schedule
- Prepare and present cost and schedule trade proposals to leadership
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (required)
- Master’s degree in mechanical engineering (preferred)
- Internship or project experience with CAD/FEA tools accepted
