Skills
- Mechanical design and CAD modeling (Siemens NX or similar)
- Tolerance analysis and GD&T for production drawings
- Structural, dynamic, and thermal simulation experience (e.g., ANSYS)
- Experience with electronics packaging and designing for extreme environments
- Test setup design, hardware validation, and data-driven troubleshooting
- Knowledge of sensor fundamentals and packaging/integration of sensors
- DFX principles, material selection, and manufacturing process awareness
Responsibilities
- Own avionics hardware design and performance across development, test, and flight
- Create 3D models, production 2D drawings, and tolerance analysis for parts and assemblies
- Drive design changes to improve reliability, manufacturability, and integration
- Perform root cause investigations, simulations, and analysis to mitigate risks
- Design and execute benchtop and environmental validation tests
- Develop sensor and avionics packages for pressure, acceleration, flow, and electrical components
- Collaborate with electrical systems, test, and manufacturing teams for integration and production support
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline required
- Relevant coursework or projects in mechanical design, structures, or thermal systems
