- Experience with PLC programming and control logic design
- Electrical system sizing and panel design (motors, VFDs, starters, protection)
- Machine safety systems and safety PLC/relays implementation
- Hands-on troubleshooting with multimeters/oscilloscopes and electrical diagnostics
- HMI/SCADA development and machine health monitoring (Ignition, MQTT, OPC-UA)
- Familiarity with fieldbus protocols (EtherCAT, Profinet, Ethernet/IP)
- Ability to read/create electrical schematics and single-line diagrams (EPLAN preferred)
- Experience with robotics integration and commissioning (ABB preferred)
Responsibilities
- Lead design, development, commissioning, and hand-off of automation machinery for high-rate manufacturing
- Architect, write, and maintain structured PLC code suited for high-volume production
- Design and implement electrical control systems compliant with NEC, NFPA, and UL508A
- Specify and implement robot, gantry, and conveyor safety systems per ANSI/RIA15.06/OSHA
- Create clear, operator-friendly HMI/SCADA screens and machine health monitoring
- Troubleshoot and debug electro-mechanical systems during design and production ramp
- Manage project schedules and budgets; coordinate cross-functional teams to meet milestones
Education
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or computer science (required)
- Relevant internships or project experience in industrial automation or electro-mechanical systems
