Mechanical Systems Engineer II
Skills
- Experience with rocket engine test stand or launch complex design and build
- Proficiency in Siemens NX and Teamcenter
- Familiarity with ASME B31.1 piping code
- Understanding of instrumentation, sensors, and test systems integration
- Experience with weld design and inspection practices
- Knowledge of cryogenic propellant (LOX) and methane facility design preferred
- Familiarity with JIRA or similar work-tracking tools
- Basic understanding of computer networks and IT infrastructure for facility systems
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and integrate mechanical test systems to meet test objectives and requirements
- Collaborate with technicians and engineers to troubleshoot and resolve facility and test operations issues
- Develop and implement maintenance protocols for new and existing facility infrastructure
- Coordinate with Archimedes engine and Neutron vehicle teams to prepare and perform hardware tests
- Support installation, checkout, and activation of facility systems with test operators
- Maintain cleanliness, component-level verifications, and internal standards for test systems
- Provide hands-on support for engine hardware and test operations as required, including nights/weekends
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related technical discipline
- ITAR eligibility for candidates seeking U.S. office roles (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee/asylee, or ability to obtain required authorizations)
