Sourcebooks Kids is seeking an imaginative Children's Book Designer with 3-5 years of experience, focused on creating engaging designs for children's book covers and interiors. This role offers opportunities for growth in a collaborative environment centered around creativity and learning.
Responsibilities: Design covers and interiors for various children's book formats while collaborating with authors, illustrators, and editors to align with the creative vision. Manage multiple design projects, ensuring high quality and attention to detail, while staying updated on design trends.
Skills: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), strong design and typography skills, and an understanding of the children's literature market are essential. Experience with file preparation for printing and eBook standards is required.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Arts or related field, along with a portfolio showcasing children's book design work and a genuine passion for children's literature.
Location: This position can be based in Naperville, IL, NYC, or fully remote from specified states including Arizona, Connecticut, and others, with minimal travel required for company meetings.
Compensation: $55000 - $65000 / Annually

In this role, you will design and support the production work for children’s book covers and internals across multiple formats including board books, picture books, middle grade, and graphic novels. This an exempt salaried position with a range of $55,000 - $65,000. We determine starting pay based on a thorough evaluation of job-related factors, including geographic location, market conditions, relevant experience, training, and education. This process ensures a fair and competitive salary that aligns with both the company and the candidate’s qualifications.
This position can be hybrid in Naperville or NYC, or fully remote in the following states ONLY: Arizona, Connecticut, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin. This role involves little to no travel, with the exception of attendance at company-wide meetings.
