Senior Data Engineer
Skills
- Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure experience (GCP preferred)
- Strong Python and SQL skills for data processing and automation
- Experience with orchestration tools (Airflow, Docker; familiarity with Dagster or Meltano)
- Knowledge of data warehouse performance and cost optimization (Snowflake, ClickHouse, etc.)
- Proven ability to build and operate production-grade data pipelines
- Experience with dbt and setting up dbt projects
Responsibilities
- Design, build, maintain, and enhance data infrastructure and ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Own strategic decisions around data tooling, orchestration, and cloud architecture.
- Optimize performance and cost of data warehouses and processing systems.
- Troubleshoot and operate production data systems to ensure reliable data delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and refine data requirements.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior data engineers.
- Monitor data platform health (recalls, message delivery, reporting) and meet SLA expectations.
- Stay current with industry trends and introduce improvements to tooling and processes.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in STEM preferred (additional experience accepted in lieu of degree)
- 5+ years of industry experience (or equivalent)
