Experienced Systems Engineer - (Orlando, FL)

Position Description

Serco  is seeking a leader to fill a  fast-paced, growing, and dynamic role of Systems Engineering Lead to support our Satellite Ground System organization.  This role is an individual contributor/technical lead supporting engineering activities on one or more assigned programs.  The SE Lead interfaces with the Program Manager, Chief Engineer, Chief Architect, other IPT leads, as well as the customer.

Responsibilities include:

• Technical Expertise: A deep understanding of Wideband SATCOM especially CNPS, systems engineering principles, including system architecture, integration, and testing.   
• Agile Methodology Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Agile principles and practices, such as Scrum or Kanban. The ability to adapt and apply these methodologies to systems engineering processes is important.
• Leadership Skills: The ability to lead and motivate a team, manage conflicts, and facilitate collaboration among cross-functional teams. Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills are also necessary.
• Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and environments, and the ability to pivot strategies as needed.

Qualifications

To be Successful in the role, you will have:

• Ability to obtain an interim Secret within 90 days and maintain an active secret clearance.
• A U.S. Citizenship.
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM degree with a minimum of 8 years’ experience
  • Or Masters degree in STEM and 6 years of experience.
• Experience working within formal engineering, development, integration, requirements analysis, and/or testing processes for the development of complex systems
• Experience working with satellite communications technology system architecture, interfaces, protocols, control, planning, equipment, concept of operation, troubleshooting, policies, and/or procedures
• Experience and proven track record of harnessing standard system engineering processes for the development of complex systems with familiarity with some of the following areas: architecture development, systems analysis, requirements and interface management, and Engineering Review Board representation over the total systems lifecycle.
• Excellent oral and written communications, targeted at a range of stakeholders from executives to detailed engineering disciplines
• Experience with Agile principles and practices
• Leadership experience
• Knowledge base of Wideband SATCOM
• Ability to travel up to 25%of the time.

Additional desired experience and skills:

• Cross-domain technical experience including RF communications, space-to-ground communications, network engineering, and electrical/mechanical systems
• Understanding of radio frequency (RF) theory as it relates to communications (including satellite link performance parameters, link budgets and interference calculations)
