Skills
- Four-year degree in mechanical, aerospace, or equivalent technical field (physics, applied math).
- Proven hands-on experience designing, building, and testing hardware.
- Enthusiasm for fast-paced hardware development and lab/shop work.
- Familiarity with CAD tools (preferred).
- Experience with analytical tools for stress or thermal analysis (a plus).
- Knowledge of electromechanical systems and basic control system modeling (beneficial).
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to design and iterate on satellite hardware.
- Build and test prototypes, components, and assemblies in the shop and lab environments.
- Perform hands-on assembly, integration, and verification of electromechanical systems.
- Execute test plans, record results, and troubleshoot hardware failures.
- Create and maintain engineering documentation, drawings, and test reports.
- Support design-for-manufacturing and design-for-testability efforts for flight hardware.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, applied math, or equivalent technical degree.
- If currently enrolled as a student, apply to the Intern program instead of this Associate role.
- U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or qualified protected status (required for export-regulated space technology).
