Contract: Initial 12 Month Fixed-term, with the opportunity to convert to full-time at the end of the term.

Salary: $58,000

Start Date: ASAP

What The Job Is All About:

As a Broadcast Solutions Technician, you will be working as part of a growing and dynamic team to deliver cutting-edge broadcast technology to some of the country’s largest broadcasters.

The role will be based in our offices in Atlanta, with your main responsibilities being to successfully manage the integration of our technology with our broadcast partners (hardware and software), to ensure the seamless delivery of our services and products at various events. You will be part of a team that incorporates the host broadcasters onsite as well as remote operators in various locations throughout the US. You will need to be prepared to work long days at weekends and midweek evenings, as we work whenever sport happens.

Although the role will be based in Atlanta, you will be expected to travel to events as required to support ongoing deliveries as well as commissioning systems for new projects. As you gain experience in the role, you will be expected to support demonstrations and POCs at events showcasing the product for new clients. Given these responsibilities, we are looking for someone who can be confident in these situations and clearly communicate with customers.

Experience in the broadcast world would be highly favourable, particularly within any replay roles in the industry. If you have a good general technical knowledge, then we can provide you with the training to make you a success in this role.

We will equip you with the technical training, support and full exposure to our systems to perform your day-to-day tasks, but also encourage development and progression to help make an impact on what we do.

Key Responsibilities

  • Setting up the Hawk-Eye technology in the broadcast trucks and remote locations (either from Atlanta or onsite):

    • Liaising with broadcast staff to ensure that the physical set-up of the system is correct

    • Software configuration for the onsite engineers and remote operators

  • Conducting pre-event checks of the systems in accordance with standard procedures

  • Liaising with broadcast staff and replay operators throughout events to ensure smooth delivery of services

  • Monitoring hardware and software performance, being able to troubleshoot and report encountered issues

  • Taking full responsibility for our system and representing our company

  • Help to drive the growth of a new product with huge development potential, supporting research and development

  • Work in a variety of environments; within Hawk-Eye teams and independently, across onsite, office-based or remote opportunities

  • Technical work in the office, including building kits, troubleshooting faulty hardware, and testing software on a weekly basis.

  • Assisting with the installation and testing of new products and services

  • Taking ownership of any issues and improvements so that they are clearly communicated to the wider team

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:

  • A strong technical and broadcast grounding is preferred

  • Experience working with VT/replay technology is desirable, or live event/technical production

  • Ideally with a degree in a science, technology, mathematics or engineering course or relevant equivalent experience

  • Bright and enterprising with excellent analytical and problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills

  • Proactive attitude and ability to work on your own initiative

  • Time management skills and the ability to work in a high-pressure, live broadcast environment

  • Ability to liaise with clients and customers in a professional and approachable manner

  • Willingness to travel domestically

  • Flexible and adaptable to a schedule that is dedicated by sport and can change at short notice

  • Acceptance that the nature of our business means that work will be carried out over weekends/federal holidays

  • An understanding that on-site or warehouse work may require some physical tasks (moving hardware, etc.), as well as spending time on your feet

At Hawk-Eye Innovations, we appreciate and value the importance of potential and growth. If you believe that you excel in certain areas and possess the passion and desire to develop further, we encourage you to apply
