Senior AI/ML Software Engineer (Remote in California)
Skills
- 7+ years writing ML code for launched/production products
- Proven experience developing production features leveraging LLMs and generative AI
- Strong Python programming skills
- Knowledge of generative AI techniques (RAG, LoRA, RLHF, fine-tuning)
- Experience creating datasets from anonymized proprietary data for training/fine-tuning
- Experience building and operating backend ML APIs and microservices
- Familiarity with model evaluation techniques and vector databases (highly desired)
- Exposure to additional languages like NodeJS, Java, or Kotlin is a plus
Responsibilities
- Rapidly prototype and iterate on AI-driven product features while producing clean, maintainable code
- Deliver generative AI features to production and maintain their lifecycle
- Mentor and guide junior AI/ML developers
- Create, monitor, and troubleshoot backend APIs and services that connect frontends to ML models
- Collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, data engineers, and QA to integrate AI into existing and new products
- Build, train, fine-tune, deploy, and maintain ML models for product features
- Stay current with industry trends in generative AI and suggest practical applications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Master's or PhD in a related field is preferred but not required
