- Thermal modeling and analysis (0-D/1-D networks)
- Thermal test design, execution, and data analysis
- Thermal model validation using test and flight data
- Heat transfer fundamentals and passive thermal control
- Experience with Thermal Desktop / SINDA / ANSYS or similar tools
- Familiarity with scripting for analysis (Python, MATLAB)
- Ability to communicate technical results across teams
Responsibilities
- Perform thermal modeling and analysis of spacecraft and components
- Conduct thermal design trade studies balancing margins, resources, risk, cost, and schedule
- Identify and resolve thermal design, acceptance, and performance issues
- Design and execute thermal tests for components and assemblies
- Validate thermal models using test and in-flight data
- Coordinate with cross-functional engineering and program teams on thermal matters
- Research and identify vendors for thermal control materials
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical engineering, or related engineering field
- Master's or PhD in aerospace/mechanical engineering preferred
