Principal Software Architect
Skills
- 12+ years professional software engineering with significant hands-on architecture ownership
- Proven experience designing end-to-end systems across mobile clients, backend services, and APIs
- Strong experience with iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin) client architectures
- Backend expertise in .NET and Node.js and designing RESTful and event-driven APIs
- Relational data modeling and experience with SQL Server and Oracle
- Hands-on Azure experience including CI/CD, deployment strategies, logging, and observability
- Familiarity with modern tooling (Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jira, Confluence) and DevOps practices
- Client-facing communication, technical leadership, and mentorship skills
- Experience integrating or evaluating AI features (Python, TypeScript, Azure OpenAI) is a plus
Responsibilities
- Define and evolve application architecture across iOS (Swift), Android (Kotlin), .NET, and Node.js services.
- Lead architectural decisions for scalable, secure systems using SQL Server, Oracle, and Azure infrastructure.
- Provide technical direction across frontend, backend, mobile, and integration layers and review designs and implementations.
- Partner with Delivery Managers and engineering teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Support end-to-end delivery across multiple concurrent engagements, balancing speed, quality, and sustainability.
- Act as a technical escalation point to resolve complex architectural or integration challenges.
- Ensure architecture supports CI/CD, observability, performance, and operational excellence.
- Participate in client-facing technical discussions and translate technical concepts into business value.
- Guide platform, tooling and integration choices (Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jira, Confluence) and integrations with enterprise systems.
- Contribute to AI-enabled initiatives and mentor senior and mid-level engineers to promote engineering best practices.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Advanced degree preferred but not required
