- Practical experience mapping and operating NIST SP 800-171 controls and supporting CMMC evidence collection
- Cloud fundamentals and secure configuration experience (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Strong systems and network troubleshooting across macOS, Linux, and Windows
- Operational discipline: runbooks, change coordination, incident triage, and documentation
- Ability to explain technical topics to non-technical stakeholders and work cross-functionally
- Comfortable in a remote-first, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
Responsibilities
- Lead IT operations: endpoint management (MDM/EDR), patching, device provisioning/deprovisioning, backups, and asset inventory.
- Manage identity & access: SSO, MFA, service accounts, role-based access, and contractor onboarding/offboarding; support CAC/PIV where required.
- Implement and maintain NIST SP 800-171 controls and support CMMC evidence collection, SSPs, and POA&M tracking.
- Own vendor and tooling relationships for infrastructure, endpoint, backup, SSO, and cloud providers and coordinate with MSPs.
- Support secure cloud configuration and connectivity (AWS/Azure/GCP), VPNs, firewall rules, and network topology.
- Integrate secure tooling and telemetry for DevSecOps and delivery teams, and onboard developer workstations.
- Serve as first/second line for operational incidents; coordinate containment/remediation and post-incident reviews.
- Drive automation and standardization of operational tasks and evidence collection; improve runbooks and playbooks.
- Maintain and update operational documentation, configuration baselines, and topology diagrams for audits and handoffs.
- Provide user-facing IT support, triage employee issues, coordinate change windows, and maintain a positive remote support experience.
- Collaborate closely with the Director of Cybersecurity to align operations with compliance roadmaps and monitoring initiatives.
Education
- No specific degree required; equivalent experience and demonstrated technical mastery accepted
- U.S. citizenship required due to federal customer work and background investigation
