We're looking for a strong senior engineer who's at a career crossroads; ready to take on more leadership while staying deeply technical. You'll start as a senior IC contributor for 3-6 months, then transition into leading a small team while continuing to write code and ship features.
This is the ideal role if you've been thinking about management but want to try it in a supportive environment where you can be coached and grow into the role. If it works, great - you'll have a clear path to Engineering Manager. If not, that's okay too - you'll still be valued as a senior IC.
What you'll do:
Own and ship significant features across our stack as a senior IC contributor
Mentor 2-4 engineers and help them grow technically and professionally
Gradually take on team coordination, sprint planning, and project management responsibilities
Work closely with our founding team to learn how we think about engineering leadership
Help us scale our engineering culture as we double our engineering team in 2026
You're 3-5+ years into your career, likely at senior engineer level, and curious about trying management
You have strong engineering fundamentals and ship quality code efficiently - you know your strengths and where you want to grow
You are high EQ and think you can push people to be their best without burning them out
You have strong product sense and aren't afraid to work cross functionally to ship products end-to-end
You're friendly, open to coaching, and not hyper-opinionated - you're here to learn and contribute, not prove you know everything
You dislike meetings but understand that some coordination is necessary when leading a team
You thrive with autonomy but also know when to ask for help or guidance
You're in SF or willing to relocate - we work in-person and you're serious about building a great culture with us
