Skills
- Expert Linux tuning for low-latency and kernel-bypass NICs (e.g., Exanic, Solarflare, Mellanox)
- Hands-on experience building and operating co-location environments
- Proficiency with automation/orchestration tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Salt, or Terraform
- Scripting experience (Bash, Python) to build tooling and automation
- Experience with public cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) and private cloud provisioning (OpenStack/VMware)
- Monitoring and instrumentation experience (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana)
- Familiarity with Active Directory, Kerberos, and market data/feed handlers
Responsibilities
- Engineer and support the firm’s strategic order management platform across global low-latency environments
- Design, build, and manage co-location sites from planning through production
- Tune Linux systems for low latency and high throughput, including kernel-bypass technologies
- Automate infrastructure changes and deployments using enterprise and open-source tools
- Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents, perform root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions
- Manage upgrades, migrations, and new builds across on-premises and public cloud environments
- Collaborate with vendors to implement hardware and software solutions
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field preferred
- Advanced degree (MS) preferred but not required
- Relevant industry certifications a plus (e.g., Linux, cloud provider certs)
