Skills
- 5+ years building modern web applications, including 3+ years with React and TypeScript in production
- Strong experience building high-performance data grids, charts, and dashboards with virtualization and diffing strategies
- Experience with streaming patterns (WebSockets, SSE) and handling large, rapidly updating datasets
- Familiarity with Observables/RxJS and state management libraries (Redux Toolkit, Zustand, MobX, or RxJS patterns)
- Proficient with testing tools (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress/Playwright) and modern build tooling (Vite/Webpack, ESLint, Prettier)
- Deep understanding of browser rendering pipelines, asynchronous programming, Web Workers, storage and security best practices
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate stakeholder needs into technical specifications
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain React and TypeScript applications for order entry, blotters, dashboards, and risk/position views
- Implement real-time, event-driven UIs (WebSockets/streaming) that handle large, frequently updating datasets with low latency
- Create reusable component libraries and contribute to the team’s shared design system with accessibility, theming, and responsiveness in mind
- Optimize performance via data virtualization, memoization, concurrent processing, Web Workers, and efficient rendering strategies
- Integrate front-end apps with market data feeds, OMS/EMS, and internal APIs; collaborate with backend engineers to define data contracts
- Develop and maintain automated tests and manage deployments using CI/CD pipelines, feature flags, and monitoring tools
- Work directly with traders and product stakeholders to gather requirements, present demos, and iterate rapidly
- Uphold engineering best practices including code reviews, documentation, security, and accessibility (WCAG/ARIA)
- Support modernization or interoperability with existing Angular-based applications when necessary
- Mentor teammates and contribute to technical roadmaps
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered)
- Advanced degree a plus but not required
