- Deep proficiency in Python with experience applying modern patterns and practices
- Experience designing and scaling complex, distributed systems
- Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS
- Familiarity with web frameworks (Django preferred)
- Experience with APIs, databases, observability, and CI/CD pipelines
- Ability to produce clear architecture documentation and perform meaningful code reviews
- Strong communication skills to collaborate across functions and levels
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and engineering teams to gather functional and non-functional requirements
- Craft, document, and present architecture designs and implementation plans for new features and systems
- Advise on coding and design best practices focusing on resilience and maintainability, applying modern Python principles
- Estimate work, track dependencies, report progress, surface blockers, and validate adherence to architecture guidelines
- Design and build proof-of-concept implementations for new technologies or design proposals
- Evaluate and recommend architecture patterns, platform choices, and tooling
- Oversee development progress to ensure alignment with initial designs and quality standards
- Lead engineering projects and conduct design and code reviews
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
