Skills
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one state bar
- 7+ years of experience focused on executive compensation, preferably within financial services
- Relevant tax expertise related to compensation
- Strong legal drafting and negotiation skills for employment and compensation documents
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to prioritize, multitask, and operate independently in a dynamic environment
- High attention to detail and commitment to ethical standards
Responsibilities
- Design executive compensation frameworks to attract and retain senior leadership
- Draft and negotiate employment agreements, offer letters, and compensation-related documents for investment professionals and senior management
- Advise on long-term incentive compensation, deferred compensation, and equity programs
- Structure and document non-compete agreements and related restrictive covenants
- Monitor evolving legal, tax, and regulatory developments affecting executive compensation
- Translate complex legal and tax issues into practical guidance for HR, Talent Acquisition, and business leaders
- Work autonomously to manage multiple matters and see projects through to completion
Education
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school
- Membership in at least one state bar
- Relevant coursework or training in executive compensation and tax law preferred
