Associate General Counsel, Executive Compensation

Point72 is a global alternative investment firm seeking an experienced attorney to join its Legal team as Associate General Counsel, Executive Compensation. The role will design and advise on executive compensation frameworks, draft and negotiate employment agreements and long-term incentive arrangements, and provide practical legal guidance to HR, Talent Acquisition, and senior business leaders in a fast-paced financial services environment.

Skills

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one state bar
  • 7+ years of experience focused on executive compensation, preferably within financial services
  • Relevant tax expertise related to compensation
  • Strong legal drafting and negotiation skills for employment and compensation documents
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to prioritize, multitask, and operate independently in a dynamic environment
  • High attention to detail and commitment to ethical standards

Responsibilities

  • Design executive compensation frameworks to attract and retain senior leadership
  • Draft and negotiate employment agreements, offer letters, and compensation-related documents for investment professionals and senior management
  • Advise on long-term incentive compensation, deferred compensation, and equity programs
  • Structure and document non-compete agreements and related restrictive covenants
  • Monitor evolving legal, tax, and regulatory developments affecting executive compensation
  • Translate complex legal and tax issues into practical guidance for HR, Talent Acquisition, and business leaders
  • Work autonomously to manage multiple matters and see projects through to completion

Education

  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school
  • Membership in at least one state bar
  • Relevant coursework or training in executive compensation and tax law preferred
