- Production experience designing and deploying AI/ML systems at scale
- Deep knowledge of LLMs and ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow)
- Hands-on with LangChain, Hugging Face, or equivalent agent and orchestration tooling
- Experience with vector databases and embeddings workflows (Pinecone, Milvus, Weaviate, etc.)
- Familiarity with graph data structures and graph stores
- Strong multi-cloud deployment experience (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- MLOps and CI/CD for model training, deployment, and monitoring
- Proven people leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Responsibilities
- Define and own the end-to-end AI/ML architecture and technical strategy for Lat 61, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of AI engineers; set technical direction and enforce delivery standards.
- Translate business opportunities into prioritized AI MVPs and production solutions with measurable impact.
- Architect advanced data and AI workflows using vector databases, embeddings, graph stores, and RAG pipelines.
- Integrate AI components tightly with the Lat 61 platform in partnership with Data Architects, Product, and Engineering.
- Establish and enforce model governance, ethical AI standards, bias monitoring, and secure deployment practices.
- Monitor external AI trends, evaluate new tools/frameworks, and incorporate best practices to keep the platform cutting-edge.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
- Master’s or PhD in a quantitative field preferred but not required
- Relevant professional experience and demonstrable portfolio of production ML systems accepted in lieu of advanced degree
