Senior Accountant

Point C Health is a national third-party administrator delivering customized self-funded benefit programs with a focus on cost containment and innovative solutions. The Senior Accountant will report to the Controller and is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, supporting audits, and delivering actionable financial insights to cross-functional stakeholders.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting
  • Journal entry preparation and month-end close experience
  • Bank and cash reconciliation expertise
  • Experience with financial statement preparation and audit support
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office suite
  • Familiarity with ERP/accounting systems (Sage Intacct preferred)
  • Experience with billing/revenue integrity and coding
  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate cross-functionally

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries (AJEs) and ensure correct transaction classification
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts to subsidiary records monthly
  • Perform account analyses and reconciliations (bank, fixed assets, accruals, prepaid)
  • Support financial statement preparation and transactional coding
  • Conduct daily cash and bank reconciliations and record related entries
  • Assist accounts payable and receivable processes as needed
  • Compile, code, and verify billing data to support revenue integrity
  • Coordinate with operations to ensure accurate revenue and receivable reporting
  • Assemble schedules and documentation for external auditors during audits
  • Analyze budget-to-actual variances and summarize findings for management
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements
  • Recommend process improvements and strengthen internal controls

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • CPA or advanced accounting certification is a plus
  • Relevant continuing education or accounting coursework beneficial
