Overview

Planned Systems International (PSI) is an Enterprise IT services company who focuses on designing, building, securing, and operating cutting-edge software solutions that drive mission success and operational excellence for Federal Government organizations. We are curretnly seeking a highly skilled and experienced Microsoft Entra ID Engineer supporting inter-agency B2B collaboration initiatives on our Enterprise Messaging, Collaboration, Authentication and Office 365 Services Support for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The Microsoft Entra ID Engineer will be responsible for supporting VA’s enterprise B2B collaboration, security, and application integration within the VA’s environments. This role involves managing, maintaining, and securing Microsoft 365, Azure AD, SharePoint, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, and related systems, ensuring compliance with federal standards, VA policies, and security requirements. The candidate will collaborate across teams to support site assessments, system integrations, security measures, and help desk operations related to B2B initiatives, application support, and data management.

 

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Information & Technology’s (OIT) Communication Collaboration Services (CCS) mission is to deliver high-quality, effective IT services to support veterans' healthcare by managing and maintaining enterprise systems, including Entra ID Business-to-Business (B2B), Microsoft 365 applications, Active Directory, cloud and on-premise systems, to ensure seamless and efficient point-of-care and healthcare operations.

 

This is a full-time remote position. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and must be able to obtain a Public Trust. Veterans are encouraged to apply.

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

  • B2B Program Support & Site Integration:
    • Support detailed site assessments, develop and implement integration plans, and ensure all B2B solutions meet federal security and compliance standards. Assist in the successful execution of site/program enablement’s and manage enablement intake procedures.
  • System Support & Maintenance:
    • Support and administer Microsoft 365 applications, Azure AD, SharePoint Online, Exchange, OneDrive, Teams, and related services. This includes user provisioning, permissions, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Security & Incident Response:
    • Implement, monitor, and support cybersecurity measures, including development and maintenance of cyber documentation, Incident support, and security event management to ensure security compliance and incident mitigation.
  • Application Support & Integration:
    • Support custom application integrations and development efforts that enable agency-specific B2B functionality, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and compliant with federal and VA requirements.
  • Help Desk & Support Operations:
    • Support tier 1-3 help desk functions for B2B, Microsoft 365, and related applications, ensuring timely resolution of tickets and user support requests in alignment with SLA response times.
  • Documentation & Security Agreements:
    • Support creation and management of MOUs, MOAs, MORs, ISAs, and other security documentation, ensuring all security agreements are developed, signed, and maintained in accordance with VA policies.
  • System Monitoring & Patching:
    • Manage system health, perform updates, patching, and backups to maintain system integrity and security posture.
  • Data & eDiscovery Support:
    • Collaborate with legal and investigative teams to support eDiscovery efforts, manage data collection, restore mailbox items, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct research on special topics and recommend solutions to government clients.
  • Work proactively and independently to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Prepare and deliver the EMCAO program deliverables

Minimum Requirements

  • 5 years of professinal experience
  • Bachelor’s degree - 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
  • Deep understanding of MS Entra ID B2B
  • Proven experience supporting Microsoft 365, Azure AD, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, and related cloud and on-premises systems.
  • Strong understanding of federal cybersecurity standards, VA security protocols, and security documentation.
  • Skilled in system troubleshooting, incident response, patch management, and security best practices.
  • Experience supporting B2B integrations, security engineering, and application deployment.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and coordination skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Entra ID (Azure Active Directory), SharePoint, Teams and enterprise software deployment workflows.
  • Strong understanding of change management, configuration management, and cybersecurity protocols.
  • Excellent project coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and other Governance documentation
  • Must be able to identify and mitigate risks to the program.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with brevity and clarity to government clients and develop work products that meet professional quality standards with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to support executive-level virtual meetings and summarize outcomes.
  • Ability to self-organize, balance workload, complete tasks on time (without reminders), proactively seek out assignments, and offer improvements to client delivery.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working as a federal contractor or employee.
  • Professional Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate, Azure Security Engineer Associate, ISC2: CISSP, Security+ or other cybersecurity certification are preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, including talking and hearing.
  • Ability to operate productively in a fully remote work environment, including the ability to take meetings and phone calls from a quiet and private space during business hours.
  • Ability and willingness to actively participate in virtual meetings throughout most of the workday and be responsive to messages (MS Teams) and emails (MS Outlook) within reasonable timeframes set by the supervisor or client.
  • Ability to be responsive and working during Central time zone standard business hours (8:00am to 4:00pm).
  • Ability to satisfy security clearance and onboarding requirements:
    • Print, sign, scan, and return onboarding documentation.
    • Travel at personal expense to nearest government facility to get fingerprinted, apply for a PIV badge, pick-up the PIV badge, and pick-up government equipment.
