Skills
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and API design experience
- Proficient in Python and building backend services (FastAPI preferred)
- Experience with microservices and RESTful API development
- Knowledge of cloud deployment and infrastructure IaC (Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform)
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure provisioning and operations
- Customer-facing experience and ability to translate domain problems into software
- Ability to learn and reason about advanced engineering concepts across industries
- Strong communication, ownership, and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, designers, and front-end engineers to ship physics models and shape UX in line with customer needs.
- Design, prototype, and deliver end-to-end applications and low-lift prototypes directly to customers, iterating rapidly based on feedback.
- Develop and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs (FastAPI) to serve Large Physics Models and application logic.
- Deploy and operate services in cloud environments using Helm, Kubernetes, Terraform on AWS/Azure.
- Translate complex, multi-physics solutions into reusable platform components and propose product/architecture improvements.
- Engage with customers to understand engineering problems, scope solutions, and drive impactful outcomes with high ownership.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field or equivalent practical experience
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in relevant discipline is a plus but not required
