Construction Architect

Responsibilities

Join Peraton in advancing the safety, efficiency, and modernization of the National Airspace System (NAS) through the FAA’s Brand New Air Traffic Control System (BNATCS) contract. As a trusted partner to the Federal Aviation Administration, Peraton helps deliver the systems and services that keep our nation’s skies safe and connected.

We’re looking for innovative professionals who thrive in mission-critical environments and are passionate about shaping the future of air traffic management. This is your chance to make an impact on one of the world’s most vital transportation infrastructures, working alongside leaders in aviation, engineering, data science, and systems integration.

At Peraton, you won’t just support the mission — you’ll define it.

Help shape the future of U.S. airspace safety and efficiency. We are seeking a Construction Architect to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will oversee and coordinate facility construction, upgrades, and infrastructure modernization projects in support of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). In this role, you will provide technical oversight, project leadership, and contractor management, ensuring all construction activities meet FAA standards for safety, quality, and compliance. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain in-depth experience in federal contracting while supporting high-visibility aviation programs.

In this position, you will:

  • Manage and oversee FAA construction projects from planning through execution, ensuring compliance with scope, budget, and schedule.

  • Provide technical oversight of contractors and subcontractors, verifying adherence to FAA standards, building codes, and federal regulations.

  • Lead the preparation, review, and approval of construction schedules, cost estimates, and design packages.

  • Monitor project progress, perform site inspections, and ensure safety and quality standards are met.

  • Coordinate with FAA stakeholders, engineering teams, and facility managers to integrate construction activities with ongoing operations.

  • Resolve construction-related issues, change orders, and design conflicts in collaboration with architects and engineers.

  • Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and audit-ready records of project activities.

  • Ensure construction activities comply with OSHA safety standards, FAA guidelines, and environmental regulations.

  • Oversee contractor performance and risk management, identifying and mitigating issues early.

  • Prepare and present status updates, risk reports, and recommendations to FAA leadership.

  • Responsible for planning, scheduling, and monitoring construction projects from inception to completion, aligning with FAA mission objectives and modernization initiatives.
  • Interpret and apply engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Prepare Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs) and supporting contract modifications.
  • Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and contract compliance.

Why This Role Matters

The FAA is the cornerstone of aviation safety and innovation. As a Construction Manager, you will ensure that FAA infrastructure—including air traffic control centers, communications facilities, and technical sites—is designed and built to meet operational requirements. Your leadership will safeguard facility readiness, worker safety, and mission-critical reliability, directly supporting FAA’s modernization efforts and the safety of millions of travelers.
