We also help merchants connect with their customers, process exchanges and returns, and manage risk. We enable consumers to engage in cross-border shopping and merchants to extend their global reach while reducing the complexity and friction involved in enabling cross-border trade.

Job Summary:

This job involves independent collaboration to enhance credit processes and decision-making. The analyst evaluates credit risk, oversees team performance, and utilizes data analysis to track credit quality. They work outside defined processes to determine appropriate actions, ensuring the effectiveness of credit management strategies while contributing to the overall efficiency of the credit portfolio.

Job Description:

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Conduct timely assessments of merchant credit risk throughout the merchant life cycle
  • Analyze financial and bank statements to evaluate creditworthiness and assess merchant financial health
  • Estimate financial exposure and recommend risk mitigation measures where necessary
  • Communicate risk insights and recommendations effectively with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails of underwriting assessments
  • Monitor portfolio segments and track seller performance to identify risks and opportunities
  • Stay current on industry trends and credit risk best practices to inform decision-making
  • Facilitate or participate in special assignments and projects to support business initiatives

Expected Qualifications:

  • 3+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Analyst, Credit Underwriting to join our Holistic Onboarding and Underwriting team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in enhancing and streamlining customer onboarding and underwriting processes while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The role requires strong analytical skills, industry knowledge and the ability to work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders.

You will join PayPal’s Holistic Onboarding and Underwriting Americas team. You will partner with your teammates and other business stakeholders to ensure that risk to PayPal and its merchants are mitigated.

The total compensation for this position may include an annual performance bonus (or other incentive compensation, as applicable), equity, and medical, dental, vision, and other benefits.
