Data Analyst II - Automation & Process Improvement

We’re actively seeking a talented Data Analyst to join our Systems Solutions Team in Newport Beach, CA.

• This role is hybrid. We believe in empowering our employees to get work done both in and out of the office.

As a Data Analyst you’ll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by to helping drive efforts in data analysis, business process improvement, and automation. This role requires skills in SQL and Alteryx, along with the ability to identify and streamline manual processes using various automation tools.  The ideal candidate brings experience in data analysis with a highly technical background.

How you’ll help move us forward:

• Perform data analysis to support strategic initiatives, improve operational efficiency, and identify automation opportunities.

• Participate in the design and deployment of automation solutions for repetitive or manual business processes across departments using Appian, Alteryx, Python, AI, and/or Power Automate.

• Apply practical experience with AI tools (e.g., Amazon Bedrock, Snowflake Cortex) to enhance analytical capabilities and accelerate current business processes.

• Work with internal business partners to understand workflows and paint points to implement optimal solutions.

• Create interactive dashboards for upper management using tools like Tableau and Power BI.

The experience you bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in data science, mathematics, statistics, computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience.

• 2+ years of experience in data analysis, business process improvement, and/or automation.

• Experience building medium to complex database queries. 

• Proficient with Alteryx, developing workflows for automation and data validation.

• Experience with Python for automation scripting and data manipulation.

• Experience using RPA tools such as UiPath or Power Automate.

• Background in identifying manual processes and delivering effective automated solutions.

• Experience developing interactive dashboards using tools like Tableau and Power BI.

• Familiarity with Agile project management practices and tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.

• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

What makes you stand out:

• Background in life insurance, financial services, or actuarial functions and systems.

• Familiarity using AI tools such as Amazon Bedrock, Snowflake Cortex, or similar platforms.

• Experience working with and building out Appian functionality

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
