Responsibilities

• Provide news, analysis and commentary on the NBA that can be leveraged on and off platform.

• Occasionally contribute to Yahoo Sports video and audio shows. 

• Maintain an active presence on multiple social-media platforms and collaborate with social team to promote Yahoo Sports' coverage and content. 

• Create and shape shoulder content around tentpole events and topics, including the NBA All-Star Game, NBA Finals and NBA Draft.

Minimum Qualifications

•  At least five years experience in sports media/journalism.

•  Minimum three years experience reporting on college athletics.

•  Strong news judgment and ability to develop a network of contacts and sources.

•  Strong writing, grammar and communication skills, and an understanding of the “tone” of the internet

•  Social media experience and a willingness to explore new platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with the NBA’s top newsmakers, from coaches to players to front-office and league executives.

• Exhibit comfort level in conducting on-camera work.

• Ability to work with multiple editors and writers on projects.

The compensation for this position ranges from $90,750.00 - $188,750.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
