Contract Data Analyst - Sales & Marketing Analytics
Contract Position | 12-18 Months | Finance Department
We are seeking a mid-level Data Analyst to support a finance team with critical sales and marketing effectiveness analysis for an upcoming product launch. This role offers the opportunity to shape our analytical approach and directly influence strategic decisions in a direct-to-consumer environment.
Role Overview
As a Data Analyst supporting our finance department, you will analyze sales and marketing performance, evaluate customer acquisition strategies, and provide actionable insights to optimize our new product launch. We're looking for someone who brings fresh analytical perspectives and can validate innovative ideas through data-driven analysis.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze sales and marketing effectiveness metrics for new product launch initiatives
Conduct account-level analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for optimization
Evaluate market development strategies and customer acquisition channels
Build and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI or similar tools
Develop new analytical frameworks and methodologies to measure campaign performance
Collaborate with finance, marketing, and sales teams to define KPIs and success metrics
Present findings and recommendations to leadership
Identify data quality issues and recommend improvements
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Business, Finance, or related field
3-5 years of experience in data analysis
Strong background in sales and marketing analytics
Experience with account analysis and customer segmentation
Proficiency in SQL and data manipulation
Advanced Excel skills
Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
Strong communication and presentation skills
Self-starter who can propose and validate new analytical approaches
Highly Desired Qualifications
Experience with Microsoft Power BI or similar BI tools (Tableau, Looker)
Experience supporting new product launches or go-to-market initiatives
Prior experience with direct-to-consumer (DTC) business models required
Knowledge of marketing attribution models and customer lifetime value analysis
Experience with market development and expansion analytics
Contract Details
Duration: 12-18 months (6-month initial contract with extension)
Level: Mid-level
Schedule: 40 hours per week
Location: Hybrid 3+ days per week in Minneapolis North Metro
Compensation: W2 Hourly
120 Hours of accrued PTO. 401k program with 3% company contribution.
