The Nuclear Theory group at The Ohio State University invites applications for a postdoctoral position at the intersection of nuclear theory and astrophysics, focusing on the study of dense nuclear matter and neutron stars. Applicants studying the equation of state of QCD at nonzero baryon density, transport properties of dense matter, connections between gravitational-wave and/or other astrophysical measurements and the microphysical properties of neutron-star matter are all encouraged to apply. The postdoctoral scholar will be expected to collaborate with current members of the nuclear-theory group and the Center for Cosmology and AstroParticle Physics (CCAPP) as well as encouraged to conduct independent research.
This is a term position for 2 years with the possibility of renewal based on performance and availability of funds.
Required Education:
Doctorate (Academic) in physics or related field
Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. in physics or related field by the time of appointment.
Demonstrated record of accomplishments in neutron-star physics or dense QCD matter.
