The John Glenn College of Public Affairs at The Ohio State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Public Budgeting and Finance at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor beginning Autumn 2026. We encourage applications from individuals engaged in high-quality research that is relevant to public affairs. Research and teaching interests should focus on public budgeting or public finance, broadly construed to include areas such as public financial management, financial reporting, performance-based budgeting, fiscal sustainability and resilience, debt management, capital finance, tax and fiscal policy, and financial administration. We welcome applicants with training in related social science disciplines, including (but not limited to) public affairs, public policy, public management, public administration, economics, or political science. Responsibilities will include teaching core and elective courses in the college’s undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degree programs. We encourage applicants to describe teaching and professional development experiences that have prepared them to teach and mentor learners at all levels. In addition to scholarship and teaching, responsibilities will include service to the college, university, community, and professional associations.
We desire applicants with the potential to become productive and impactful researchers, effective teachers, and conscientious and engaged community members. The land-grant mission is core to the university and the college, and we are particularly interested in applicants whose research not only makes a strong scholarly contribution but also delivers value to the public.
