Staff Software Engineer, Platform

Omada Health is a remote-first digital health company building scalable infrastructure to deliver personalized chronic care at scale. The Platform Engineering team seeks an experienced staff-level engineer to design, build, and operate cloud infrastructure, improve developer tooling and CI/CD, and collaborate cross-functionally to enable product and data teams.

Skills

  • Proven expertise designing and operating AWS cloud architectures at scale.
  • Advanced experience running and operating Kubernetes clusters in production.
  • Strong Terraform and Ansible skills for IaC and configuration management.
  • Experience with Datadog for APM, metrics, and logging.
  • Proficiency with Docker image build/deploy and container orchestration.
  • Solid Linux administration and troubleshooting of persistent hosts and volumes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; strong documentation skills.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and incident response.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate Omada’s cloud infrastructure and platform services to support digital health products and high availability requirements.
  • Manage Kubernetes clusters and container orchestration for production workloads.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (Terraform) and configuration management (Ansible).
  • Maintain and enhance GitLab CI/CD pipelines and developer workflows.
  • Implement monitoring, observability, custom metrics, and alerting using Datadog.
  • Collaborate with product engineers, AI/ML engineers, data scientists, InfoSec, and IT to deliver platform solutions.
  • Design redundancy and disaster recovery strategies for critical services.
  • Mentor and guide engineers on the Platform team and across the org; participate in pair programming.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and respond to incidents when they arise.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Advanced degree in a technical field is a plus but not required.
