- Expertise in protein design, expression, purification and functional characterization.
- Experience developing and validating biochemical and biophysical assays (kinetics, binding, stability).
- Hands-on experience with FPLC systems and chromatography workflows.
- Familiarity with computational design and AI-assisted research workflows and custom bioinformatics scripting.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and manage cross-functional projects and teams.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and project oversight for the Enabling Technologies team.
- Design protein engineering experiments using computational design, rational approaches, and directed evolution.
- Express and purify recombinant proteins across hosts (bacterial, yeast, insect, plant) to high purity and yield.
- Develop, optimize, and validate expression systems, purification protocols, and functional assays.
- Operate and oversee purification workflows including FPLC systems (e.g., ÄKTA) and ensure QC/reproducibility.
- Troubleshoot folding, solubility, stability, PTMs and integrate outputs with in vivo/in vitro downstream applications.
- Establish SOPs, metrics, and milestones; track progress and report to senior leadership.
- Support adjacent technologies (e.g., HPLC for metabolite analysis) and champion continuous improvement.
Education
- Ph.D. in Protein Engineering, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related field.
- Postdoctoral or equivalent industry research experience preferred.
