Skills
- 6+ years backend engineering with Java and Spring Boot/Spring MVC
- Proven experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs
- Familiarity with SQL databases (Oracle preferred) and ORM frameworks (Hibernate/JPA)
- Knowledge of microservices and distributed systems concepts
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and optimization skills
- Experience working in Agile teams and Git-based workflows
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain secure, high-traffic backend services using Java and Spring Boot/MVC
- Modernize legacy components and refactor services for scalability and maintainability
- Develop and refine RESTful APIs and support identity and access workflows
- Integrate backend systems with multiple VA enterprise systems and external services
- Contribute to containerized deployments and Kubernetes-based operations
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize backend performance across complex integrations
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams to deliver stable releases
- Participate in CI/CD pipeline development and modern DevOps practices

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (required)
