Skills
- Strong Python experience with Django or FastAPI
- Experience designing and maintaining relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL)
- API design and development (REST, GraphQL familiarity)
- Experience with gRPC and Protobuf (integration experience preferred)
- Familiarity with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code practices
- Automated testing and debugging skills
- Experience integrating/synchronizing data with third-party APIs
- Experience with monitoring, observability, and troubleshooting production systems
- Proficient with version control (Git) and collaborative workflows
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement scalable backend systems and APIs using Python (Django/FastAPI).
- Optimize relational database schemas and performance for PostgreSQL/MySQL.
- Write tests, debug, and maintain high-quality, production-ready backend code.
- Deploy and maintain backend services; participate in on-call rotation for live-site issues.
- Integrate and maintain scheduling and third-party API integrations (gRPC, REST, GraphQL where applicable).
- Document backend systems and follow/promote engineering best practices.
- Participate in technical design discussions and collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, frontend, operations, clinical).
- Take ownership of features from design through testing, deployment, and monitoring.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent practical experience
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship
