OCLC is seeking a Director of Resource Sharing to lead the planning and development of services that enhance how libraries share their collections. This role focuses on transforming resource sharing products to ensure libraries meet user expectations for fast and easy access to information.
Responsibilities: The Director will oversee product strategy and planning for OCLC's resource sharing products and services, lead a product management team, and collaborate with marketing for customer acquisition and retention. Key responsibilities include increasing revenue, managing product roadmaps, and ensuring alignment with user needs.
Skills: Candidates must have a strong understanding of resource sharing practices, excellent communication and presentation abilities, and experience in product management lifecycle and financial planning.
Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree and over 10 years of experience in product, project, or program management are required. Preference for candidates with library services, eCommerce/logistics experience, or experience using AI tools.
Location: This position is located in Dublin, United States with a hybrid work environment, requiring some on-site days.
Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation ranges for this position are between $130,000 - $180,000.

The Director of Resource Sharing will lead all aspects of the planning and development of services that help libraries share their collections. Libraries’ end user expectations are being influenced by the products and services they use outside of the library (e.g. Amazon, Google, and ChatGPT). Library users expect fast access to anything, anywhere, anytime. Libraries are looking to OCLC to help them enable seamless, fast, and transparent fulfillment and delivery experiences for their users. You will lead the transformation of OCLC’s Resource Sharing products to enable libraries to provide these great experiences for their users. To meet this need, automating and streamlining library processes and workflows will be critical. You will work closely with the global community to reinvent resource sharing workflows, which will greatly improve fill rates and significantly cut average delivery times.
This role also provides critical input to the product marketing team in product release and promotional efforts.
The Director of Resource Sharing is accountable for the following deliverables:
Product strategy, roadmaps, annual product plans, business cases, and monthly product reviews, launch plans, white papers, product presentations, market messaging, event support, competitive write-up and user personas, customer collaboration/workshops.
Additionally, this role contributes to the production of: Portfolio business plans, strategies, roadmaps, metrics, and operational plans; portfolio progress plans and reviews
