- Active NY Licensed Veterinary Technician (preferred) or enrollment in veterinary technician program
- Safe animal restraint and compassionate handling

Responsibilities
- Communicate patient status, pre/post-op and home care instructions, and answer client medical questions while escalating complex issues to veterinarians
- Educate clients on preventative care, vaccinations, laboratory procedures, and financial/estimate discussions
- Greet clients, escort patients to exam rooms, and support smooth front-desk transitions and practice promotions
- Safely restrain and handle animals; assist veterinarians in medical, surgical, and dental procedures
- Prepare patients for surgery, administer and monitor anesthesia, and monitor recovery
- Perform and interpret laboratory tests, radiographs, and electrocardiograms
- Place IV catheters, administer SQ/IM/IV injections, and provide emergency treatments when needed
- Dispense medications under veterinarian direction, prepare prescription labels and packages
- Maintain accurate electronic patient records and support proper billing documentation
- Maintain surgical materials, equipment, inventory, and ensure treatment/exam areas remain prepared and clean
- Follow DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety protocols
Education
- Licensed Veterinary Technician in New York (preferred/required per location)
- Or current enrollment in an accredited veterinary technician program (considered)
- High school diploma or equivalent
