JOB MISSION:
New Balance has a rich history rooted in innovation since 1902. Our Tech Designers challenge the status quo, solve for athlete needs, drive fit consistency, and problem solve for a healthier future.
As an Assistant Apparel Technical Designer, you will support the technical design team, demonstrating flexibility according to the shifting priorities.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Assist the department with sample reports and other related files.
• Monitor and track factory packages containing fit samples.
• Log in, measure, and prepare fit samples in time for weekly fit sessions (including wear test samples).
• Attend and support in fit sessions as needed.
• Communicate with factories on outstanding samples to ensure the calendar timing is being followed.
• Work in PLM system for data entry of sample comments, measurements, sketches, and photos.
• Coordination of factory images for digital asset library.
• Review and update 3D images as needed for Technical Design.
• Assist Managers with data entry, reporting statistics, managing tracking report, and other related projects
REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Clothing & Textiles or related major
• Must have solid understanding of Apparel pattern making, construction, and fit
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication
• Computer skills, including proficiency in Illustrator and Excel.
• Attention to detail and accuracy is a required skill.

Flexible Work Schedule
For decades we have fostered a unique culture founded on our values with a particular focus on in-person teamwork and collaboration. Our North American hybrid model encourages rich in-person experiences, showcasing our commitment to teamwork and connection, while maintaining flexibility for associates. New Balance Associates currently work in office three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Our offices are fully open, and amenities are available across our North American office locations. To continue our focus on hybrid work we have introduced “Work from Anywhere” (WFA) for four weeks per calendar year. This model will help us enhance our culture while continuing to maintain elements of flexibility.
