Job Description

NBCUniversal’s Enterprise Product team builds products and services for organizations throughout NBCUniversal including Ad Sales, Broadcast Operations, NBC Digital, NBC News, NBC Sports, Cable Entertainment brands, and local TV stations. The team spans 6 key verticals: Content Management, Content Sales and Finance, Scheduling and Distribution, Ad Sales, Ad Technology and Integration, Data and Analytics, and Linear Distribution. As a part of the Ad Technology and Integration team, you will develop the architectural strategy to ensure a cohesive product ecosystem across each vertical, enhance existing workflows, identify process improvements, provide strategic recommendations, and lead cross functional technical and operations teams to design, build, and launch new features and new initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement solutions around NBCU’s digital advertising ecosystem across NBCU's non-O&O portfolio, including distribution initiatives with MVPD and CTV partner platforms such as Hulu, YouTubeTV, etc by evaluating and solutioning partner ad-serving stacks end-to-end, defining integration requirements for FreeWheel and other ad servers, and coordinating with Product Owner and Integration stakeholders
  • Define technical requirements for metadata delivery and signal translation across ad systems (e.g., feeding metadata to 3P systems, integrating with partner APIs for ad decisioning features like competitive separation and pod-level rules)
  • Scope and design new distribution feed delivery workflows to ensure DAI readiness from a content perspective, including SCTE marker specifications, metadata ingestion/extraction, and break signal alignment (e.g. breakstart vs. ad provider markers)
  • Work across oRTB and buy-side workflows to design test plans, QA flows, and certification processes supporting DSP integrations and marketplace expansion
  • Serve as a technical SME on SSAI (Server-Side Ad Insertion), ad serving systems, metadata ingestion, and VOD/linear/live ad workflows across off-domain streaming products. Deep dive and onboard new ad supply endpoints, directly identify and solution for any limitations and risks, and determine how technical details align to support user stories and capabilities of broader NBCU ad sales & programmatic portfolio
  • Work with the Partnerships Product Owner and the Ad Integration team to hand off product architecture and ad integration blueprints to operationalize testing and sign-off

Qualifications

    • 8+ years of experience in digital advertising ecosystem with direct exposure to ad serving systems and a proven track record of successful media, advertising, or relevant supply chain projects, preferably in technology or media industry
    • 8+ years of experience with digital video concepts with demonstrated ability for complex problem solving related to end-to- end data and delivery flows within the ad servers and partner DAI ecosystems, spanning player/stitcher stacks, content management and distribution, supply/demand connectivity, and measurement and compliance frameworks
    • 8+ years of experience in a role demonstrating strong technical, quantitative, or analytical skills
    • 8+ years of experience with ad serving and decisioning architecture, including integration with DAI systems and bidding workflows
    • Exceptionally detail-oriented with a proactive, solutions-driven mindset.

Preferred Qualifications:

    • 8+ years of experience working with IAB specifications and concepts, advertising products, VAST, VMAP, OpenRTB, etc.
    • 8+ years of experience in Television/Broadcast, Media, Content Distribution, Technology, or related field with direct exposure to ad servers such as FreeWheel
    • Experience designing and operationalizing SCTE-35–based DAI workflows, including marker validation, metadata mapping, and signal troubleshooting across partner systems.
    • Familiarity with programmatic supply integrations, oRTB protocols, and buy-side certification workflows (DSP testing, QA, and compliance).
    • Naturally curious and resourceful; thrives in technical problem-solving, actively seeks answers, and designs practical solutions to complex challenges.
