Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

The Hair & Make Up Project Manager is responsible for leading the Hair & Make up department for MSNBC, which is located in both our New York and DC locations. This role will manage the scheduling of the artists to ensure appropriate coverage and support is provided for our on-air talent and guests. 

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor Production processes and facilitate schedule changes due to breaking news. 
  • Manage staff and freelance employees locally and DC bureau locations.
  • Responsible for the recruiting, hiring and training of personnel. 
  • Provide production assistance for special network events or remote coverage
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications team on special projects.
  • Review daily broadcasts, track talent looks and produce daily guides when necessary.
  • Monitor departmental budget. Responsible for payroll & vendor invoice along with other payment procedures.
  • Prepares and processes P-card and expense reports in accordance with established travel policy guidelines; ensures the timely processing of expenses utilizing electronic processes for payment to Corporate credit card for the Hair Makeup departments
  • Manage Talent and artist relationships
  • Maintain “Pro Account” relationships and stay up to date with beauty trends

Qualifications

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of project management experience, ideally in news, TV, or entertainment, with a focus on hair and makeup teams

  • Organized & detail-oriented – You can manage competing deadlines and multiple rotation timelines with ease. You also double and triple check every nuance when it comes to deliverables
  • Self-starter – Able to hit the ground running with limited supervision
  • Confidentiality - Must be able to maintain department business with the utmost confidentially 
  • Resourceful – If you don’t have the answer, you figure it out. You’re comfortable navigating a complex environment to obtain info

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Salary range: $85,000 - $105,000
