Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

A motivated publicity executive who will be a senior member in overseeing and executing our film and studio events – including U.S. Premieres, International Film Festival Premieres and Events, tastemaker screenings with talent, awards events and internal and external parties.  Must be a strong communicator and have experience and be comfortable dealing with Senior Studio Executives, A-list talent and filmmakers and an extensive understanding of the Global Film Industry.

Must be detail oriented, organized and a creative & strategic thinker. Ideal candidate is able to work effectively as part of a team and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.  Will report into the SVP, Events & Publicity.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Taking a collaborative and leadership role in organizing U.S. Premieres, International Film Festival Premieres and Events, run logistics on detailed and complex guest lists, and Senior Staff handling.
  • Work alongside National Publicity team to oversee event strategy on film campaigns - all LA press days, press junkets, special screenings, premieres
  • Full coordination of Tastemaker screenings with attending talent for Awards events and internal and external parties.
  • Manage event production agencies, developing timelines and monitoring benchmarks throughout the lead up to the events.
  • Work with celebrity/notable outreach agencies in order to bolster red carpet event coverage.
  • Be able to handle and liaise with Business Affairs that all contractual filmmaker and talent obligations are met concerning film events to avoid any issues down the line.
  • Manage complex events budget to keep within required cost allotments.  
  • Ability to negotiate with venues, vendors and suppliers.
  • Direct communication and reports to the Senior Staff of the company.
  • Manage external and internal screenings, arrange DCP delivery, technical checks, and coordinate security.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with internal Senior Staff and important external clients and filmmakers.
  • Ability to communicate to a high level within the company.
  • Running, managing and updating complex guest lists, Talent Handling and Key Execs during the event.
  • Create detailed staffing grids including coverage across all departments including assignments on talent, at screenings and receptions.
  • Coordinate and supervise all health requirements for the events with EHS and alignment with CDC and county requirements in terms of vaccines, masks and testing.
  • Supporting Senior Staff at Filmmaker events, Awards Ceremonies and International Film Festivals.
  • Prepare post-event recaps with highlights from the event including key beats and photos.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years of experience in events and film
  • Must have a strong understanding of event logistics and production.
  • Must have pre-established strong working relationships with venues representatives, event production agencies, global agencies, and talent representatives.
  • Must have keen knowledge of innovations in the digital landscape, and have interest in keeping abreast of trends in social media.
  • Ability to maintain and develop previous relationships with external film industry contacts.
  • Ability to truly multitask, prioritize and be flexible is essential in a fast paced and highly pressured environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with talent, senior executives and peers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills and ability to pay attention to details under deadline pressure
  • Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information with absolute discretion
  • Must be a team player who is able to work in an open and collaborative environment
  • An expert communicator with the ability to communicate with all levels especially senior executives – able to follow up on meeting action points
  • Exceptional attention to detail is essential and we are looking for candidates who are highly meticulous and demonstrate precision in every aspect of their work

Eligibility Requirements:

Additional Requirements:

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Salary range: $120,000-150,000 (bonus and LTI eligible)
