Supports the detection, analysis, and reporting of real-world threats to the Bank’s personnel, facilities, events, and operations. Assists in intelligence collection, open-source monitoring, and foundational threat assessments. Works closely with corporate security partners to identify emerging risks and develop early warning intelligence to reduce risk to the organization.
Location: This role is based in Buffalo, NY. Open to considering candidates out of one M&T's main hubs within our footprint, but preference will be given to candidates based in Buffalo or who are willing to relocate

Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Intelligence, or related field and a minimum of 2 years of experience in security, public safety, or intelligence capacity or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 6 years’ higher education and/or work experience
Familiarity with threat behavior indicators and protective intelligence fundamentals.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Prior work experience with open-source research
Strong organizational skills.
Knowledge of tools, techniques, and methodologies analyzing and mitigating threats.
Industry recognized certification
Experience evaluating, analyzing, and synthesizing large quantities of data which may be fragmented and contradictory
Understanding of different types of threats and basic understanding of motivations and methodologies
Understanding of what types of intelligence Corporate Security and the team(s) would benefit from receiving with guidance from leadership
Capable of quickly learning new technical skills
