Onsite – Buffalo, NYOur Manufacturing Engineering team in Military Aircraft Group is looking for a Manufacturing Project Engineer to join them. You will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Director and will have an onsite work schedule in East Aurora.
As a Manufacturing Project Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving new product introductions (NPI) and aftermarket re-introduction efforts within our Shop Operations team. You’ll serve as the Cost Account Manager (CAM), representing Manufacturing Engineering ensuring seamless coordination across cross-functional teams.
This is a high-impact role where you’ll manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, while translating program requirements into actionable plans. You’ll be the go-to liaison between Program Management, Contracts, Design, Cost and Schedule teams ensuring alignment, visibility, and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
As a Manufacturing Project Engineer, you will:
Act as the CAM for NPI and aftermarket re-introduction projects within Shop Operations.
Collaborate with program teams to understand requirements and develop initial make/buy strategies.
Coordinate with Contracts, Design, Cost and Schedule teams to ensure alignment on priorities, budgets, and schedules.
Develop and manage project plans, budgets, and performance metrics.
Track progress, identify risks, and escalate issues to ensure timely resolution.
Create and maintain custom reports; leverage SQL and scripting to pull data from repositories.
Establish standard work processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Spend significant time in cross-functional meetings to drive collaboration and transparency.
To be considered for this role, you’ll typically bring with you:
Bachelor’s degree (technical degree not required).
Strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent computer skills particularly in Microsoft Excel, Project, PowerPoint, JIRA, and TeamCenter.
Ability to learn and apply data tools for reporting and analysis.
It would be nice if you had:
PMP Certification.
Experience in program management or operations support.
