Software Engineering Intern - Salesforce CRM Development

This internship experience provides participants with a meaningful, relevant work experience as part of their academic studies. In addition to daily responsibilities, participants will have the opportunity to participate in a series of structured activities designed to enhance their learning experience including:

At the conclusion of this position, interns will have increased their knowledge of investing, the mutual fund industry, employee engagement, and a firm understanding of how information technology (IT) works at an asset manager.

The MFS Summer Internship program is a 10-12-week program, starting June 2nd, 2026, and ending on August 7th, 2026. Students work full-time, Monday through Friday, 35-40 hours per week and are paid hourly. All applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. Internships are open to students who are rising seniors (class of 2027).

MFS is a hybrid work environment (with 2 remote days and 3 on-site days) unless otherwise stated in the job posting.

Job Summary:
Join our team in developing and supporting Salesforce CRM applications that enable business success for MFS Sales and Distribution companies. As a Software Engineering Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience with Salesforce development, work on solving exciting technical and business challenges, and be a part of agile processes like sprint planning and code releases. This is an excellent chance to learn directly from experienced professionals and make an impact.

Principal Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the team to enhance Salesforce CRM systems for key business areas. Learn and apply Salesforce platform concepts—fixing bugs, implementing enhancements, and supporting integrations. Participate in sprint planning, user-story refinement, and agile team discussions. Assist with technical documentation and preparation for deployment releases. Contribute to monitoring and offering support on production applications with guidance. Gain experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern development practices. Present your work at sprint reviews and team meetings, showcasing your impact.

What You Bring:

Enrollment in an undergraduate program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Passion for programming and problem-solving, with exposure to relevant languages/tools. Familiarity with JavaScript, HTML, relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Azure SQL), Salesforce, or CRM concepts is a plus. Solid communication and collaboration skills, eager to work with cross-functional team members. Enthusiasm to learn and adapt to evolving technologies. Previous experience through coursework, school projects, or internships is a bonus.
