Few people understand who Meter is and what we’re trying to do. That’s a problem. But it also presents an immense opportunity to shape the story and perception of not only Meter, but one of the most important industries in the world.
As part of the Communications Team, you’ll act as Meter’s reporter, editor, and publisher, finding and shaping narratives that help people understand not just what we’re building, but why it matters. You’ll experiment with different formats—written posts, video, audio, live sessions—to ensure your stories resonate and reach the right people.
Above all, you’ll be an exceptional storyteller who captures Meter’s pace, ambition, and impact, and brings others along for the journey.
Lead Meter's content strategy from concept to impact. From story ideation and drafting to editing, publishing, and amplification, you will manage the entire process and ensure our editorial initiatives strengthen Meter’s market awareness.
Sharpen and maintain Meter’s unified brand voice across all owned channels so our content is instantly recognizable and consistently clear.
Build strong relationships across the company to surface ideas from every corner, turning them into narratives that inform and inspire.
Establish and maintain a consistent publishing cadence across our owned channels to ensure our content engine does not slow.
Establish, track, and optimize baseline performance metrics (traffic, engagement, shares), using these insights to continually refine strategy.
Research, distill, and translate complex updates from Product, Engineering, GTM, and more into clear, engaging, and creative content that’s worth sharing. This could take the form of a Meter blog, social thread, long-form thought leadership content, a podcast, and/or a succinct one-pager.
Interview a customer or internal subject matter expert to turn a recent win or technical milestone into a compelling story.
Experiment with storytelling beyond writing—video, audio, interactive formats, events—partnering with Design to shape how our content is experienced and distributed.
Spotlight the people behind Meter’s work, highlighting the speed and rigor of our team.
An exceptional writer and skilled storyteller who can translate technical concepts and workstreams into clear, compelling narratives.
A strong relationship-builder with the interpersonal skills to connect across all levels of the company.
Someone with a talent for making complex things clear. You don’t have to come from a traditional Comms background—you might be a journalist, researcher, producer, etc.
Innately curious and adaptable.
The internet runs the world. Every purchase you make, video call you join, it's all packets flowing through networks. But those networks haven’t changed for decades. They’re brittle, complex, and surprisingly hard to set up in an enterprise space.
We started Meter to build better networks. We had to build everything from the ground-up: designing and building our own enterprise hardware, intuitive software, and streamlined operations to deliver great outcomes for our customers. Today, we build and deploy these networks at scale. Ambitious companies and enduring institutions like Bridgewater, Lyft, Reddit, rely on Meter to keep their thousands of employees and locations online and productive.
Our bet with Meter is simple: we will all use the internet more than we do today. We believe we have the definitive networking stack in place to enable business to do so as seamlessly and reliably as any modern utility.
The estimated base salary for this role is between $130,000 - $200,000.
Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Meter's equity plan.
By applying to this job you acknowledge that you've read and understood Meter's Job Applicant Privacy Notice.
