A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

• Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, evaluates alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for total systems.
• Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
• Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
• Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
• Analyze manufacturing workflows to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, proposing data-driven solutions.
• Develop and implement CAD automation tools (CREO preferred) to standardize and improve design processes.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to align design outputs with production capabilities and optimize manufacturability.
• Support Lean initiatives by mapping current processes, identifying waste, and driving continuous improvement projects.
• Apply basic PLC knowledge (Allen-Bradley) to support integration between design and manufacturing systems.
• Assist with integrating CAD systems into PLM tools to ensure smooth data management and version control.
• Document and standardize processes to enhance knowledge sharing and scalability.

Required Knowledge and Experience: Requires broad theoretical job knowledge typically obtained through advanced education.
Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A), 0 years of experience required.

Engineering Degree required

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Experience with PLM systems.
• Basic programming knowledge (e.g., Python, VBA, or C#).
• Internship or project experience in process improvement, manufacturing, or CAD automation.
• Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Green Belt certification.
• Knowledge of Agile practices and tools.
• Certification in CREO or Allen-Bradley PLCs.
