Job Summary:

Marist University welcomes applications for the position of ERP Programmer in the Information Technology Division. This position is responsible for supporting Marist’s Ellucian Banner ERP and in the development of various software products in support of the University mission. This position will also write, test, document and deliver new software and processes based upon customer requests; develop reports; and ensure data integrity. The ERP programmer/analyst acts as a liaison with administrative offices while providing user support and excellent customer service.

This position is hybrid/remote eligible with periodic on-campus work at the supervisor’s discretion.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Eight years’ experience in the information technology field.
  • Experience in using Oracle Database, MySQL, SQL, PL/SQL, JAVA, PHP with demonstrated success in software development.
  • Experience with higher education ERP systems.
  • The ability to work in a rapidly changing technological and team-oriented environment is essential.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to enhance operational efficiency through technology.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Essential Functions:

  • Work with customers to streamline business processes and realize efficiencies, while providing user support and excellent customer service.
  • Support a diverse environment of applications that use Oracle Database, MySQL, SQL, PL/SQL, JAVA, Python and CRON scripting.
  • Act as liaison with administrative offices, exhibiting diplomacy and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Work as a team to implement large scale enterprise software.
  • Write, test, document and deliver new software and processes based upon customer needs and maintain integrations between the ERP system and third-party applications.
  • Serve on committees as assigned by upper management.
  • Share on-call responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems.

Experience with Ellucian Banner ERP.

UNIX skills and shell scripting experience.

  • Typical eligibility requirements: 1 year of service and 1,000 hours with Marist University.
  • 403(b) Tax Deferred Annuity – Roth option available. Voluntary, up to IRS maximum contribution.
  • Tuition Benefits:
  • Up to 16 undergraduate credits per semester. Up to 18 graduate credit per academic calendar. Eligibility extends to employee, spouse, and dependent children under age 26.
  • University pays 100% tuition only.
  • Eligible dependents may be Reimbursed up to $2,000 per semester towards tuition at another accredited institution.

*Eligibility requirements including waiting periods and/or employee probationary periods may apply at the discretion of the University.
