IT Event Technician

Summary:

This position will plan and execute audiovisual, and IT equipment support for University events on and off campus. Technicians will have knowledge of, and be able to operate, audio technologies, visual projection and live broadcast camera technologies, lighting instruments and control functions, and video conferencing components. Technicians will be involved in IT project work, outside of the day-to-day operations of IT Support Services, including equipment maintenance and upgrades, digital signage deployment and configurations, and IT department inventory management.

Job Description:

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Support university-hosted events including setup, teardown, and technical support.
• Lead technical training: All IT Team members participate in creating content and performing training for IT-provided services and supported applications and hardware. 
• Document creation and maintenance: All IT Support Technicians are required to create, maintain, edit, and validate accurate and thorough documentation of processes and procedures based on their specific job duties, responsibilities, and expertise. 
• Deploying Images: Responsible for imaging both PC and Mac computers using our imaging applications. 
• Update and complete tasks assigned in projects: All IT Team members are required to update and complete tasks assigned within our project management application, Jira Software. 
• Thin Client Support: Deploy and support our thin clients for events and PCI workstations by adding users to AD groups and performing basic troubleshooting for our N-Computing environment. 
• Support IP Phone system: Install, move, and relocate Zoom desk phones and the IP phone applications.
• Other duties as assigned.

• AVIXA - CTS - Certified Technology Specialist

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Audiovisual Technologies or related fields.
• Customer Service Representative experience.
