Position Overview:

The Education Consultant will be a representative of Lightspeed Technologies, providing training for our instructional audio products within Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District to support their instructional technology and education teams. This in-person, hands-on position will provide the school district guidance on the best practices in the use of Lightspeed’s technology in the classroom and provide technical support as needed. This position will meet weekly with Instructional Technology and Content leadership teams to promote and encourage proper use of the Lightspeed technology implementation across the school district. As part of the Instructional Technology team at Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District, the position will be housed at the Instructional Technology office for Cypress Fairbanks ISD. Routine visits to campus locations for training purposes and support calls are required. This position is a 12-month full-time position (with the likelihood of renewal).

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide Professional Development (PD) sessions for the Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District on Lightspeed hardware and integration with other technologies within the school district
• Master the Lightspeed instructional audio and Activate small group instruction solutions
• Conduct training sessions with educators across the school district driving best practices and classroom usage
• Work closely to build relationships with the Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District and support their training and implementation of the Lightspeed instructional audio solution
• Create and present best practices for the classroom utilization of the Lightspeed Activate small group instruction technology in conjunction with the Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District Content and Curriculum teams
• Build long-term relationships between Lightspeed and the Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District through effective Professional Development and ongoing support  
• Interact with all levels of Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District administration and leadership to maintain communication streams and provide feedback
• Raise awareness in the Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District of Lightspeed products and Lightspeed professional development offerings
• Present and participate in various Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District functions, professional development learning sessions, and District conferences/summits
• Support Lightspeed Technologies at select conferences in Texas & Nationally when needed
• This position will work directly in the Cypress Fairbanks Instructional Technology department and remotely when the district technology office is not open.

Qualifications

Education Consultant Must-Haves:

• Excellent public speaking skills with the ability to speak in front of large groups of educators are essential
• Firm understanding of the pedagogy of teaching and learning – shown through the ability to develop / design / deliver exceptional professional development
• High levels of knowledge on all aspects of educational technology, technology integration, and current education technology trends
• A demonstrated understanding of and experience with research-based approaches to the teaching of reading, writing, mathematics, and Common Core
• Willingness and ability to travel to all Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District campuses as necessary
• Results-driven, well organized, flexible, with strong follow-up skills
• 3-10 years of recent teaching experience in a US classroom
• Occasional overnight travel to help support Texas & National conferences. Anticipated travel within District, 60%, Texas & National, 5%
• Experience with Lightspeed Technologies and/or other instructional audio within a classroom environment preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
