More about the role  

This is an exciting job opportunity for you to light the way as a Mechanical Engineering Intern in Peachtree City, GA with Cooper Lighting Solutions, a business unit of Signify, the world leader in lighting.  

• Coordinate with marketing and lead engineers to ensure project specifications are clear, complete, achievable, and consistent with voice of the customer (VoC).
• Ensure design progression via CAD modeling reviews, thermal and mechanical analysis, drawing and model retention, testing plan creation, test review, and coordinate with internal and third-party compliance.
• Meet project tooling budget and product cost requirements.
• Coordinate with sourcing team to ensure vendors are identified, quotations are obtained, and quality standards/form deliverables are met.
• Prototype and build Proof-of-Concepts.

More about you

• Currently in pursuit of a Bachelors' or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Demonstrate basic mechanical design approaches and capabilities, proficient in CAD
• Have basic knowledge of various materials and their structural and thermal properties
• Excellent communication, organizational and people skills and the ability to work across functional groups
• Ability to articulate and promote Engineering best-practices

Pay Rate: $23 - $31 per hour (based on year of study)
