- Proven experience shipping large-scale ML systems into production
- Expertise in ranking algorithms (collaborative filtering, learning-to-rank, deep learning)
- Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (TensorFlow or PyTorch)
- Strong SQL skills and experience with modern data warehouses and data lakes
- Familiarity with distributed computing frameworks (Spark, Ray)
- Experience with real-time serving and low-latency systems
- Familiarity with LLM/AI agent frameworks and applying them to personalization
- Experience designing and running A/B tests and experiment instrumentation
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deploy production recommendation and ranking models that serve 100M+ predictions per day
- Develop feature engineering pipelines and end-to-end data workflows for personalization
- Enhance data processing pipelines (Spark, Beam, Dask) for reliability and efficiency
- Design ranking algorithms that balance relevance, diversity, and revenue
- Deliver low-latency real-time personalization (<50ms) across product surfaces
- Run statistically rigorous A/B tests and maintain experiment logging best practices
- Optimize models for latency, throughput, and cost in production
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and ownership practices for model reliability
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and analytics to launch high-impact personalization features
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in a relevant field is a plus but not required
